Labrador Mountain Ski Club is a charitable, 501c3, organization. We run off the support of the community and members, and without our sponsors and volunteers we would not be the successful organization we are today. There is are a lot of hard work and dedication that goes into the smooth running of our Club and we can find a job for everyone who would like to help us, no matter what your skill level is on the slopes. Race Day Volunteer PositionS

Gate Judge

No certification required. Training is provided by the club, and skiing is helpful but not necessary. Gate Judges monitor assigned gates, record correct or incorrect racer passages, note any outside assistance or interference, and document faults for Jury review. Accurate record-keeping, including gate numbers, bib numbers, and fault descriptions, is an important part of the role.

CHIEF GATE JUDGE

No certification required. Training is provided. The Chief Gate Judge supports and coordinates gate judges, ensures course coverage, and reviews gate judge reports with race officials after each race.

HAND TIMING TEAM

Assist with race timing at the start and finish using the electronic backup timing system. Simply record athletes' start and finish times with a single button press.

COURSE MAINTENANCE

Help prepare and maintain the race venue by assisting with course setup, crowd-control netting, finish area setup, and on-course maintenance throughout the day.

RACE ANNOUNCER

Keep the excitement going by announcing racers and their times over the loudspeaker throughout the event.

RESULTS BOARD

Record and display racers' times on the finish area results board throughout the event.

BIB COLLECTOR

Collect racer bibs at the finish area following the last run.

B-NET SETUP

Help set up and install race safety netting under the guidance of the Chief of Course prior to race day. Tasks include carrying, unrolling, and securing netting along the race course. A great opportunity for LMSC athletes, parents, and volunteers.
